THE DAL NIENTE AND DePAUL
SUMMER RESIDENCY FOR NEW MUSIC
July 6-12, 2020
Ensemble Dal Niente, in collaboration with DePaul University, is thrilled to announce its second annual week-long summer residency program for graduate and undergraduate level composers and performers of new music.
Graduate and undergraduate level composers and performers are invited to work with internationally recognized Ensemble Dal Niente, DePaul composition faculty Christopher W. Jones, Osnat Netzer, Fredrick Gifford, and guest composer Hilda Paredes for a week-long residency program. Throughout the week, young composers and performers will have opportunities to collaborate on new projects, work side-by-side with Dal Niente musicians, perform in small and large ensembles, receive individualized feedback from DePaul faculty composers, and participate in masterclasses. Participants will receive daily instruction through lessons, rehearsals, workshops and lectures. Projects realized during the residency will be performed on evening concerts.
Application Requirements:
For the performer program, please submit a list of works studied and recent performances with list of ensembles (2 pages max) and portfolio recordings of two works, at least one having been written in the past 50 years. Performers of the following instruments are encouraged to apply: flute, clarinet, percussion, harp, guitar, violin, viola, cello, piano.
For the composition program, please submit a brief resume that contains your educational background and compositional experience, a comprehensive list of works, 1-3 scores of recent work that show the depth of your experience and range of compositional experience and a portfolio recording, if available, showing performance(s) of work(s).
