Ensemble Dal Niente presents works by Stanford University graduate composers in a free-to-the-public evening program at Nichols Hall, followed by a reception. The concert will feature four world premieres for large ensemble, and marks the culmination of a week-long residency between Dal Niente and the Stanford music department.

Dal Niente’s residency at University of Northern Iowa culminates in a concert of works by Tomás Gueglio, Raven Chacon, Rebecca Saunders, George Lewis, and more, including side-by-side performances with University students.

Ensemble Dal Niente performs music by Rebecca Saunders, Aida Shirazi, Alican Çamcı, Kyong Mee Choi, Juan Ortiz de Zarate, Sivan Cohen Elias, and Igor Stravinsky.

Erin Gee’s award-winning Mouthpiece series uses non-traditional vocal sounds to construct intricate sonic landscapes. In Mouthpiece 32, written for Dal Niente in 2018, Gee approaches the sound-worlds of specific insects, animals, and plants, mapping insect and human sound-production techniques on to each other to create music that is at once strange, familiar, and new. This program features Mouthpiece 32 along with works by NIU student composers.

Ensemble Dal Niente performs a concert of world premieres by Walden School faculty members, including Dennis Sullivan, Doug Hertz, Kittie Cooper, Nate May, Rebekah Griffin, Sarah Riskind, Terry Greene, Cody Wright, and Danny Felsenfeld.
